Peter Everett
For Peter Everett his paintings are not really abstraction. Describing his work he says, "I want it to vibrate and have energy. It's a character and part of a narrative that's in this liminal place." To reach this point Peter Everett works himself into a meditative process that incorporates chance. "I'm looking [in front of me] but I'm reaching in the peripheral where maybe it's something that I can't fully understand or hold onto. I like it when a painting terrifies me, horrifies, or surprises me because it's kind of mapping some place that I don't understand.”
